About us

The York Centurions American Football team was founded in 2006 and took part in the British Universities American Football League for the first time during the 2009/10 season.

In only our second season, we made the playoffs and more recently posted a 4-4 record in the 2013/14 season.

In 2011 we were honoured to receive the York Sport Award for Most Improved Team and the following year we received the Roses Team of the Year Award.  Further to this, our 2013/14 Team President, Fred Isaac, was the winner of the York Sportsman of the Year Award.

2015/16 has seen the Centurions go 5-3 and the club was recognised with a nomination for Most Improved York Sport Club of the year. President Stephen Bates was nominated for York Sportsman of the Year and Coach Will Claringbold was nominated for York Sport Coach of the Year.

The Centurions were victorious in the 2016 Rose Bowl and received a Highly Commended Roses Team of the Year Love York award for their efforts.
